Nordic walking hike along the Amata on the 4th of May, 2019.

Kārļamuiža’s annual Nordic walking hike along the river Amata has been happening now for 8 years on the 4th of May. This spring, anyone big or small are invited to join our organised Nordic walking hike.

The Nordic walking hike along the Amata is meant for those who don’t mind differences in terrain, as the trail can reach heights of over 40m in some places. The Amata hiking trail extends along the right bank of the river winding its way through the upper and lower ends of the valley. The trail is perfect for those who wish to see and enjoy Amata’s impressive ancient valley banks from an untouched forest path. The trail includes some steps as well as small marshy sections - your feet may get wet. The hike is not timed and will be led by two guides - one at the front and one at the bank. There are several rest points over the course of the hike, and the pace will be moderate. A lunch break for eating a packed lunch (bring your own) will be included.

The total length of the hike is 22 km.
